Seamus Heaney has died

Reputed to be the best Irish poet since W.B. Yeats. Seamus Heaney died on the 30th August 2013 may he rest in peace. I was saddened to hear this even though I did not know the man; I felt a great sense of loss. He won the Nobel prize for literature in 1995 and will be greatly missed amongst the literary community both in Ireland and abroad. Listening to his poems recently has given me a new found enthusiasm for poetry which to be honest wasn't one of my greater loves. I am sure that his poems will continue to inspire many for years to come.
