Back from Provence but little or no writing of late.

I haven't done very much writing of late have as I have been in Provence, France on holiday. Although, I did write some as I had visions of penning a travel article about the places that my wife and I had visited. I will consider it a work in progress as I have a few paragraphs written.

I did write a short story 'The Disappeared'  a while ago and was very unhappy with the ending; which I have changed several times. Unhappy or not I am guilty of submitting  it to a few competitions during the year. Needless to say I didn't get shortlist but it has taught me ( a little) to curb my enthusiasm. I wrote it specifically with the Francis Mc Manus competition in mind and to be honest I am still struggling with the end but happier than I was, so I 'll hopefully have it finished by the submission date.

Anyway as a distraction I started surfing and came across several writing opportunities which I have posted below. I hope to curb my enthusiasm long enough so submit something worthy by the closing dates; which I have included for your benefit.
