Book launch 'Forget the Lake' - by Mary Turley-McGrath

This is Mary’s second collection of poetry which will be launched by the County Donegal Arts Officer, Traolach O Fionnain , in Café Blend, High Road, Letterkenny on Thursday 3rd April at 8pm.
This collection is published by Arlen House and the poems are a development of many of the themes from her first collection,
New Grass under Snow
(Summer Palace Press).
They explore the beauty of the natural world and the interaction between the world of nature and the human world. Some of the poems were written during Mary’s residencies in the Tyrone Guthrie Centre in Annaghmakerrig after she was awarded the Annie Deeny Prize. Other poems are based in Donegal, the West of Ireland and Spain.
Recent poems were included in THE SHOp Magazine, The Forward Anthology (London) and in Poetry Ireland Review, December 2013. Two of her poems were included in the Roscommon Anthology of Poetryand her short story How to Remember was shortlisted in the Cuirt New Writing Competition 2014.
Mary, originally from Mount Talbot on the Galway/Roscommon border, is a founder member of Errigal Writers, Letterkenny. She lives in Letterkenny and has worked as a teacher of English in Errigal College for many years.
On the launch evening, there will be music and songs from Patricia Morris and Jim McLaughlin and poems in translation from Jean Curran
and Manuel Catena Fontalba.
