Kore Press Open Reading Period
Deadline April 24 (must be received by this date). Kore Press, a notable independent publisher of women's writing, seeks submissions of full-length manuscripts in the genres of poetry, memoir, short fiction, long fiction, creative nonfiction, and hybrid work. Poetry collections should be 48-98 single-spaced pages. For a novel or short story collection, submit a 50-page excerpt (2-3 stories or chapters). For a memoir or creative nonfiction book, submit a synopsis and first 50 pages. Editors say, "We are especially interested in work that is genre-bending, innovative, and experimental." $40 reading fee supports this nonprofit press's mission of educating girls and promoting women writers.
