PARK PUBLICATIONS U.K. - SHORT STORY COMPETITIONS

If you are intending to enter several of our competitions it may be worthwhile considering taking out an annual subscription to Scribble. In addition to receiving four issues of the magazine, you would be entitled to unlimited free entry in all our competitions. You may begin your subscription whenever you wish and your entitlement to free entry to the competitions lasts for the duration of the subscription. We run several competitions every year including the open short story competitions in Scribble.Annual subscribers can enter them all free of charge

ALL ENTRIES TO COMPETITIONS MUST BE PREVIOUSLY UNPUBLISHED (INCLUDING INTERNET) AND THE WRITER’S OWN WORK. POSTAL ENTRIES MUST BE TYPED OR WORD-PROCESSED ON SINGLE SIDES OF A4 PAPER (OR SIMILAR). IF YOU ENTER BY POST AND WISH TO BE ADVISED OF SAFE ARRIVAL PLEASE ENCLOSE A STAMPED, SELF-ADDRESSED POSTCARD. ENTRY FORMS ARE NOT REQUIRED BUT PLEASE ENCLOSE A COVER SHEET WITH YOUR NAME, ADDRESS AND TITLE OF ENTRY. AND DON’T FORGET THE USUAL SELF-ADDRESSED ENVELOPE WITH CORRECT POSTAGE FOR RETURN OF UNSUCCESSFUL ENTRIES/CRITIQUE.EMAIL ENTRIES (SUBSCRIBERS ONLY) MUST BE IN THE MAIN BODY OF THE EMAIL AND NOT SENT AS AN ATTACHMENT. WINNERS WILL BE NOTIFIED BY POST AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. RESULTS OF ALL COMPETITIONS WILL APPEAR IN THE RELEVANT ISSUE OF SCRIBBLE.

ARTICLE COMPETITION

Theme: 'My Writing Day'.

Your article should be an entertaining account of a typical day in your writing life. Tell us how you approach things. Are you a 'planner' or do you write on impulse and just let the words flow? Where do you get your ideas? Where do you write? How does your writing affect your family/relationships?

Articles should be between 1000 and 1500 words.
