The Developing Dylan International Creative Writing Competition
Your entry can be a song lyric, a poem, a funny limerick – any form of creative writing as long as it has been inspired by the Welsh writer Dylan Thomas and is no longer than thirty lines. We suggest that you read some of Dylan’s stories, scripts and poems for ideas
(the National Library of Wales’ website at www.llgc.org.uk
is a good place to begin). Here are some suggested themes
for the different age categories:
Ages 7-11: Family / Holiday / New Life
Ages 12-15: Folklore / Journey / Night
Ages 16-18: Tradition / Superstition / Eerie
Ages 19-25: Rites / Nocturnal / Departure
You have until 27 June 2014 to enter your work.
The competition winners will be announced at the glitzy Dylan Thomas
prize ceremony in November 2014
Enter the Competition from October 1st 2013
