Woman vs. Muse Writing competition.
Entries must be a single-authored short story of between 1000 and 2500 words, written in English. Stories must not have been previously published or be on offer to other prizes or publications.
THEME: Resilience

All proceeds (Yep! Every single dollar minus fees taken by PayPal) will be donated to MS Queensland – a non-profit organisation that aims to be the first-choice for MS information, education, treatment, care and support across Queensland.
Entries close at midnight on 12 April 2014. The shortlist will be announced on 30 April and the winners on Friday 9 May, 2014.
PRIZES:
1st – AU$100. The winning story, together with an interview with the winner will be posted on this site.
2nd – AU$50. The Runner up story and interview will also be posted on this site.
FORMATTING:
Online entries subject line should read: Competition Entry [SURNAME/ STORY TITLE]. The text should be presented with 1.5 line spacing and in 12 pt font size. PLEASE PASTE THE STORY INTO THE BODY OF THE EMAIL. DO NOT ATTACH DOCUMENTS. (All personal details will be removed from entries prior to distribution for judging).
TERMS AND CONDITIONS:
Entries must be one original single-authored short story of between 1000 and 2500 words, written in English.
Previously published or prize-winning stories will not be accepted. Entries must not be on offer to any other publications or prizes or anthologies for the duration of the Prize.
Stories should respond to the nominated theme (Resilience).
Entries should be submitted via email to: renay@renayallen.com.
If entrants subsequently withdraw their entries, the entry fee will not be refunded.
Multiple entries are permitted. (3 maximum)
Each entry must be accompanied by an entry fee of AU$10. Payment of entry fees should be forwarded via PayPal and marked [SURNAME/ STORY TITLE].
The closing date for entries is midnight, 12 April 2014. Late entries will not be considered. Hard copy entries will not be accepted.
By entering, you are declaring that the story entered in the competition is your own work, has not been previously published or awarded, and will not be offered to another publication or prize for the duration of this competition. You also declare that you have read all the terms and conditions and agree to abide by them.
Online entrants will receive an email confirmation of receipt (as long as a valid email address is provided).
The judges are Renay Allen and Margie Riley.
The judges’ decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
Woman Vs. Muse will announce the overall winner on the website.
Shortlisted entrants may be requested to be interviewed. First and second place will be interviewed and may be requested to supply a photo.
All published stories, including the winner, may be edited.
We are unable to provide feedback about individual entries.
Monetary prize winnings will be deposited into a nominated bank account (Australian entries only) or PayPal. International entrants will be paid monetary prizes via PayPal.
Woman Vs. Muse reserves the right not to award a prize.
