Christian? "Encouragement" Writing for Children Competition -Deadline 5th MAy
They're looking for a short story of no more than 1000 words, aimed at those in primary school years 3-6. The theme is 'encouragement’ and can be interpreted in whatever way you see fit.
Stories do not need to be explicitly Christian, but should reflect a Christian worldview.
The judges for this competition will be Janet Wilson of Dernier Publishing (www.dernierpublishing.com) and Vicki Howie, children’s writer and storyteller (www.vickihowie.co.uk).
First prize: £50
Second prize: £25
Third prize: £10
You may enter up to three entries.
Entry fees: Non ACW members: £3 for first entry, £2 for each subsequent entry.
ACW Members: £2 for first entry, £1 for each subsequent entry.
This competition is open to UK residents only.
Entries should be unpublished in any form (in print or online) and be the original work of the entrant.
Postal entries should include a separate cover sheet with name, address, phone number and, where possible, email address of entrant. Include the title of the entry/entries on the cover sheet. Please do not put your name on the entries themselves.
Entries must be typed. Please print clearly on A4 paper, using black ink and using only one side of each sheet of paper. Double spacing is preferred.
Maximum three entries per person. Only one prize awarded per person. In the event the judges pick two entries by the same winner, the highest of the two prizes will be awarded and another entrant will be selected for the other prize. The judges’ decision is final.

Email entries should be sent to email@example.com Please write your name, address, phone number and title of story in the body of the email but not in the document itself. If sending by email, please send in DOC or RTF format. Send cheques as above with attached note bearing your name and name of entry.

Please note the discounted entry fee for ACW members. Membership of ACW will be verified by our Competitions’ Manager, in conjunction with our Membership Secretary.
