D.H. Lawrence Heritage Poetry Competition - Final call closes 31 may 2014

Calling All Poets!

Budding poets across Nottinghamshire are being urged to follow in the footsteps of Eastwood born writer D.H. Lawrence and enter a poetry competition for a chance to win a Kindle Fire.

Eastwood's D.H. Lawrence Heritage is inviting residents of all ages to submit a poem in either the under 18s or 18s and over category, with the winner from each category receiving a Kindle Fire.

To enter, participants are asked to submit a poem on one of two themes which are familiar to D.H. Lawrence's work, Conflict or Nature.

The winners will also get the opportunity to see their poem published on the D.H. Lawrence Heritage website at http://www.dhlawrenceheritage.org/ and attend the official opening of this year's D.H. Lawrence Festival.

The competition is made possible by the kind support of the University of Nottingham, representatives of which will be part of the judging panel.

Deadline for entries is 31st May 2014. Winners will be announced at the end of August.

To enter, email your poem to culture@broxtowe.gov.uk or hand it in at the D.H. Lawrence Heritage Centre, Mansfield Road, Eastwood, Nottinghamshire, NG16 3DZ.

D.H. Lawrence Heritage is a multi-award winning, two site visitor attraction in Eastwood, Nottinghamshire, not far from junction 26 of the M1. The attraction brings together a museum, heritage centre, gift shop, art gallery, meeting room facility and civil wedding venue.
