Environmental journalists can apply for a fellowship to cover business practices in the Amazon. - Deadline 15 th June

Environmental journalists can apply for a fellowship to cover business practices in the Amazon.
Mongabay.org seeks applications from environmental journalists for its Special Reporting Initiative (SRI) Program. Chosen fellows will then report on the Brazilian Development Bank and the Amazon and the massive investments pouring into the Tapajós region of Brazil. Fellows will examine the impacts of development on the rain forest and traditional communities who live there.
English-speaking journalists who plan to publish their reports in English will receive up to US$20,000: a US$15,000 stipend and up to US$5,000 for travel and reporting costs.
Joint publications that intend to publish in both English and Portuguese qualify for a unique tier of funding. If a bilingual team is selected for the fellowship, the grant will total up to US$30,000. The team will split a US$22,000 stipend and up to US$8,000 for travel expenses.
The deadline to apply is June 15.
