The May Sarton New Hampshire Poetry Prize is now open.
The winner receives $1000, book publication, and 100 copies of the published book, as well as distribution with our other spring titles through our partner UPNE (University Press of New England).
They are delighted that Gary Margolis will be their judge this year. They do not pre-screen; all manuscripts go directly to Gary.
They will accept:
• online manuscript submissions via Submittable.com (See Submittable for guidelines)
• Paper (US Mail) submissions

TWO TITLE PAGES.
TITLE PAGE #1: TITLE ONLY! (This will go with your manuscript to the judge.)
TITLE PAGE #2: TITLE, Name, Address, Email address, Phone number. (This will stay with our staff.)
Please, no acknowledgments, biographical material, or dedication pages at this stage. A cover letter is not necessary.
Manuscripts must be typed and paginated, 50 to 80 pages in length (single spaced). Single or double-sided manuscripts are acceptable.
Translations and self-published books are not eligible. The manuscript must be the product of only one author.
Any person who has studied poetry in a formal program with this year’s judge, Gary Margolis– through a college, university, community program, residency, or private tutorial—within the last two years is not eligible to submit a manuscript to this contest.
No illustrations, photographs or images should be included.
The actual manuscript should include ONLY the following: TITLE PAGE #1, TABLE OF CONTENTS, POEMS.
Send only one copy of your manuscript submission. Use onlybinder clips or rubber bands. No staples, folders, or printer-bound copies. Manuscripts cannot be returned. Please do not send your only copy.
Please clip your entry fee of $25.00 to TITLE PAGE #2. Enclose a check or money order payable to Bauhan Publishing.
For notification of winners, include a business-sized SASE. For acknowledgment of the receipt of your manuscript, include a stamped addressed postcard. Winners will be announced in the fall of 2015.
Manuscripts must be postmarked on or before June 30, 2014. Please send as “Media Mail” and save yourself some money—manuscripts are included in the Media Mail postal regulations.
Bauhan Publishing reserves the right to cancel the contest for any reason. In that unlikely event, all entry fees will be returned to contestants.
