Mixer 2014 contest will be Monstrous Hybrids of Poetry, Flash Fiction, and Popular Genre!
What will win? 1) The poem, prose poem, or flash fiction that creates the the most interesting mix of those three forms; and/or 2) the poem, prose poem, or flash fiction that uses popular genre (sci-fi, horror, romance, erotic, noir, comedy, dystopia, apocalypse) in the most interesting way. By interesting, we mean “literary” or avant garde while still being exciting or entertaining. We mean “post genre.”
What do I win? $1,500 smackaroos. That’s in dollars!
How much is submission? $25.00
How many stories/poems can I submit? Up to five.
Contest Submissions are accepted from November 1st to July 31st each year. We do not respond to these submissions. The winner and runners-up will be announced on our blog and we will notify the prize recipient via email or telephone.
When will the judging occur and the winner be picked? Judging will take place in August. The winner will be announced in early September. Every year.
