NUHA Foundation Young Blog Writers Prize - Deadline 12th October 2014

If you were born in 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003 or 2004, this page is for you:

Welcome to the Blogging Prizes! It doesn’t matter if English is not your first language: we look at your ideas, and the winner will get £50 (about US$ 85).

To participate, write an article of 400 to 600 words on one of the topics below:
When you do a mistake, do you think you learn faster? Give some examples.
Watch this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h11u3vtcpaY. Do you agree with Logan? Why or why not?
"To invent, you need a good imagination and a pile of junk." - Thomas A. Edison. Do you agree? Explain by writing a short story.

The Jury will focus on the quality of your arguments and the originality of your ideas. Attention to spelling, grammar, vocabulary and punctuation is also important. If you would like more guidance about what would make a good article, take a look here.

Submitting your article

Once your article is ready, type it up and indicate the number of words. Then state your name, the title of your article and the topic number (1, 2 or 3).

Next, complete the submission form and send both the article and the form to our Editor at bloggingprizes@nuhafoundation.org by midnight PST on Sunday 12 October 2014 latest!

The Editorial team will read every essay they receive, which may then be published on the NUHA blog until 3 November.

What happens next?

Tell your family and friends to vote for your article by liking it on Facebook and commenting on it. The voting closes at midnight PST on 23 November.

On 27 November, the Editor will announce the 3 articles that have been shortlisted: these will be the articles that received the most votes, the articles that were most debated and the articles that may not have got much public attention but that deserve to be shortlisted for their intrinsic quality.

The Editor will also introduce the Jury for this year's writing competition. The Jury will focus on the quality of your arguments and the originality of your ideas.

If 10 or more articles have been published, the £50 (about US$ 85) prize will be awarded. If more than 20 articles are published, we will also award a runner-up prize of £30 (about US$ 50).

On 15 December, the Editor will announce the winner (and the runner-up)!

Enjoy exploring this year's blogging entries.
