Community Arts Partnership – call for poetry submissions - Deadline 1st July 2014

As part of European Heritage Open Days, Community Arts Partnership is inviting young people to submit a poem for consideration for a showcase event in one of the buildings at Stormont Castle.

Twenty poems will be selected from all submissions made. The twenty young poets will be invited to read their poems at the Glasshouse at Stormont Castle on Saturday 13th September as part of European Heritage Open Days.

Guidelines

Submissions are open to any young person aged between 8 and 19 attending school in Northern Ireland.

Submissions should be on the theme of anniversaries, commemorations or memories.

Submissions must be sent by email as a word attachment to ehod@comartspartner.org

Submissions must be accompanied by the name, age, address, and school of the young person.

If under 18, the submission must also include confirmation of parental permission to submit the poem. A parent’s phone number must be included with parental name.

If 18 or 19 the young poet’s own contact phone number should be included.

Those making submissions must be available to attend the event on Saturday 13th September (Community Arts Partnership will assist with arranged transport from Belfast City Centre to Stormont Castle if required)

Submissions must be made by July 1st 2014

Failure to follow the guidelines will unfortunately mean we cannot consider the submission.

Poetry in Motion and Poetry in Motion Schools are part of the Literature and Verbal Arts (LAVA) projects offered across Northern Ireland by Community Arts Partnership.
