Shakespeare's Sister Fellowship - Deadline 1 st July 2014
Shakespeare's Sister Fellowship - $10,000 - No Entry Fee
Creative arts organization A Room of Her Own (AROHO) sponsors the annual Shakespeare's Sister Fellowship to discover the next woman playwright whose skills and talents deserve special recognition.
The Fellowship awards a stipend of $10,000 to an emerging playwright as she works on a new play during the year with the guidance of professional playwrights. Additionally, the playwright receives residencies at three popular literary arts organizations: AROHO, Hedgebrook, and the Lark Play Development Center. Each residency supports the playwright at subsequent steps in the development of her new play.
AROHO created this fellowship to help a budding woman playwright advance into a special "dream project" that she might not have undertaken without the support, guidance and resources of an established arts organization.
To qualify for this fellowship, the playwright must have composed one full-length play and commit to one year in developing a new play.
