The 2014 Grieve Writing Competition - Deadline 4 th July, 2014

Presented by Hunter Writers Centre, Newcastle,
and the
National Association of Loss and Grief,
this writing competition gives you a chance to
express yourself in response to the word 

'Grieve'

Calvary Mater Hospital Palliative Care Department
and the Acute Care Service

$200 donated by Hunter Writers Centre
$150 - this particular award is for a story or poem about a Grief or Loss other than death/dying - donated by
Good Grief - Seasons for Growth
Writers' Pack valued donated by
Nursing and Midwifery Services, Hunter New England Health
$100 People's Choice award
donated by Maclean's Booksellers
$100 member's prize - you must be a member of
Hunter Writers Centre to win this award
All prizes will be presented at the
Grieve Live Reading on August 22nd, 2014

How to Enter

Write a story up to 500 words long (or a poem up to 36 lines) and submit it via our online entry form below. Stories can be on anyexperience related to the word 'Grieve'

The competition costs $10 to enter
and all funds are used to administer the competition.
Hunter Writers Centre and NALAG are not-for-profit organisations.

Closing date: 4th July, 2014

A long list of works will be published and a short list of works (20) will be read at the Live Reading on Friday August 22 nd, 2014. Prizes will be awarded on the night.
