The City Theatre National Award for Short Playwriting - Deadline is September 30, 2014
$2,000 Prize - No Entry Fee
City Theatre (Miami, FL) is sponsoring The City Theatre National Award for Short Playwriting, which will award a prize valued at (up to) $2,000, plus full stage production and on-going royalties to a playwright who has written the best short play (running time: less than 10 minutes).
City Theatre will develop and produce the winning play for its 2014 Summer Shorts Festival (June 2014). As part of the prize value, City Theatre will cover travel expenses and hotel accommodations so the playwright can attend and participate in the festival.
The judges seek original short dramatic plays that are vibrant and well-timed, humorous and refreshing, touching and menacing. Judges are open to all genres and styles from emerging and professional playwrights.
Deadline is September 30, 2014. No entry fee.
