THE MARROW AWARD FOR SHORT NONFICTION:
Entries must be 500 words or less and consider (in some way) the theme of “food”. We are looking for lean, compelling narratives; recipes loaded with family tales; unique takes on what food means or does; any nonfiction piece that considers food in some way–surprise us!
THE COMPASS POINT AWARD FOR FLASH FICTION:
Entries must be 500 words or less and have something to do with the theme of “place”. We are looking for intense prose about home, travel, regions, or even watersheds–anything to do with place (or the people/animals/ideas/plants/feelings/whatever that inhabit that place).
