OPENED FOR ENTRY TODAY -Toasted Cheese A Midsummer Tale Narrative Writing Contest - Deadline June 21 st 2015
Read the General Contest Rules first.
A Midsummer Tale is open April 1 – June 21 annually.
AMT is a summer-themed narrative writing contest open to non-genre1 fiction and creative nonfiction.
The theme of the 2014 A Midsummer Tale writing contest is: Song of the Summer.
You know that song. You might shout “This is my New Favorite Song!” when it starts to play or you might groan because it’s such an earworm but either way damn it! it’s already making you nostalgic and summer’s barely even begun. You know every time you hear this song for the rest of your life, it’s going to kick you back to that summer, the one when you heard it on repeat. For the 2014 A Midsummer Tale writing contest write a story inspired by a “Song of the Summer.”
Note: While stories can be fictional, the inspiration song must be real.
Do: include the title of the song somewhere in your story.
Don’t: quote extensively from the lyrics.
Identify your story as fiction or creative nonfiction. For CNF entries, please indicate whether names have been changed.
Length: 1,000 words minimum; 5,000 words maximum.
Deadline for entries: June 21, 2014.
Send entries to email@example.com with the subject line: A Midsummer Tale Contest Entry
