There is a first prize of £200 for the winning story which will be published in Writing Magazine and in our Competitions Showcase. There is also a runner-up prize of £50 with publication in our Competitions Showcase.
How To Enter:
For this month’s short story competition you are invited to write a story (up to 1,500 words) for a young audience. Your hero is ten-year old Kyle and his problem is that he is too addicted to computer games. Your story needs to show how Kyle sorts his problem, but it should do so in an inspirational way without preaching. If you can get the message and the tone exactly right, your fictional Kyle should act as a role model for his peer group.
The closing date for your 1,500-word story is 14 July
