Rules and Guidelines
The general guidelines for each category (short stories & fiction, poems, art & photography, and general guidelines) found on the "Submissions" page apply to all contests. The pay scale on the submissions page does NOT apply.
Participants may submit as many items as they wish, but must pay a separate entry fee for each work, or in the case of poems and art for each grouping of work (poems - 1 to 3 poems of not more than 350 words total, art or photography - two works).
Winners
A first place winner, second place winner, third place winner and five (5) honorable mention winners will be awarded cash prizes in each of the four categories listed above. All winners will be published in Pithy Pages For Erudite Readersunder the same agreements that govern regular submissions.
Entry Fee
There is a $20 entry fee for each submission (short stories - 1 work, flash stories - 1 work, poems - 1 to 3 poems of not more than 300 words total, art or photography - two works).
Prize Amounts and Rules
Each category will generate its own prize amounts as follows:
Entry fees, up to $5000 in each category, will be pooled and returned to entrants as cash prizes distributed as follows: First Prize - 50%, Second Prize - 15%, Third Prize - 10%, Honorable Mention - Five Prizes of 5% each.
