Lucille's Legacy Publishing's Storytelling Competition- Deadline: September 30, 2014

Stories should be unpublished, true, or written as though they were true. We are looking for inspiring, motivational or humorous tales about such subjects as overcoming adversity, an extraordinary act of kindness, about defeating odds, etc. Basically anything that touches our hearts and evokes strong, positive emotion.

We are looking for a range of stories from all walks of life. We seek an authentic, unique voice, and a compelling story. Entries may be religious or secular in nature, about any family-friendly subject.

Entries must be written in English, double-spaced, using 1 inch margins, and 12 point font size. Choose a standard, easy-to-read font type such as Times New Roman, Arial or Courier New. Word count must fall between 750 and 1,500 words, not including title.

Do not include your name or contact information on manuscript pages, as judging is anonymous. You may include a cover sheet, but it is not required. Entries will be accepted through this website ONLY. Once entry fee has been submitted, you will be redirected to the submission page. There, follow the instructions to submit your story via email. Files accepted are Microsoft Word® (.doc / .docx); OpenOffice (.odt); WordPerfect® (.wpd); RTF; and Adobe® PDF.

Any submission which fails to follow word count guidelines will be automatically disqualified. No refund is possible for disqualified entries. If your submission loses format during submission, it will not count against you, we can fix that. We cannot make your story longer or shorter, however, so please adhere to the word count policy.
