PAPATANGO THEATRE COMPANY RESIDENT PLAYWRIGHT 2015 - DEADLINE Monday 21 July 2014
We’re seeking candidates to be our second Resident Playwright following our immensely successful inaugural year with May Sumbwanyambe.
The Papatango Resident Playwright will write a new play with our guidance and support, as well as deliver a limited number of free masterclasses for emerging or early-stage writers. It is therefore best suited to someone with some professional experience and a proven track record, though still short of having enjoyed a full production breakthrough.
The role is extremely flexible and part-time. Being based in London is not a requirement provided you are free periodically to travel to London.
As part of the Residency, we will be applying for a BBC Theatre Fellowship. Whether we are successful in our application will in part depend upon our Resident Playwright, as he or she will be the proposed beneficiary and will need to supply supporting materials for the application. Should it be successful – as we were last year – then we will be able to offer a full fee.
To apply for the Residency, please send a CV and short cover letter (no more than 200 words), outlining why you would like the position and the difference it would make to your career, by 5pm on Monday 21 July 2014 to scripts@papatango.co.uk.
Selected candidates will be invited to interview on Friday 25 July 2014.
