Griffin Poetry Prize - $65,000 Cash Prize
The Griffin Trust For Excellencesponsors the annual Griffin Poetry Prize, known as Canada's biggest award for an original compilation of poetry (first release only) published in English.
To excite the public's creativity and boost recognition of how poetry plays a critical role in our social and artistic life, the Griffin Poetry Prize grants two poetry prizes of $65,000 each and an extra $10,000 to each candidate who reads at the yearly Shortlist Readings in Toronto (Canada).
Griffin Trust grants one prize to a living poet who resides in Canada, and a second international prize to a living poet who resides in any country. Both prizes can incorporate translated collections. The publisher must submit the poet's book of poetry.
The Prize only accepts poetry written in English, and it must be no less than 48 pages long. The publisher can submit multiple works, but each submission must be authored by one poet.
Deadline: December 31, 2014| Apply to poetry prize
