Graybeal-Gowen Prize for Virginia Poets - Deadlin November 15 2014 #writing #competition #contest
SUBMISSION PERIOD FOR THIS YEAR’S GRAYBEAL-GOWEN PRIZE runs from October 15 till November 15.

Thank you for your participation in 2013; about a 150 poets entered last year.
This annual prize of $500 is awarded by Shenandoah and the Virginia Poetry Center for a single poem of 100 lines or less by a writer born in or with current established residence in Virginia. The 2014 winning poem will be published in SHENANDOAH in March 2015.
Entrants are invited to submit up to three previously unpublished poems. Send one copy of each poem (with contact information in upper right-hand corner), SASE and brief biographical note, which should confirm the basis for eligibility as a “Virginian” to:
