We are delighted to launch the Poets Meet Politics writing competition 2015, which will be judged by Derek Sellen. For details, click here.
Hungry Hill Writing was originally established for writers on the Beara peninsula in Ireland, but our competitions and readership now have an international following, and we welcome contact with anyone who is interested in the kinds of writing that can be found in our Online Anthology—read and (we hope) enjoy! If you are interested in contributing, please see our Submissions page. Feedback is also welcome via the Contact Us page.
For those interested in meeting others on Beara who write, or want to write, there are active writers' groups; if you would like to know more, see the Writers' groups page.
We also organise readings, courses and workshops from time to time; see our Events & Information page for the latest information.
As a small non-profitmaking organisation we run our publications and competitions on very tight margins; if you feel you could support our activities financially, click here.
Lastly, please note that all works on this website are in copyright: ©2011-date the individual authors. You are welcome to use brief quotations of text (suitably acknowledged) for criticism or research, but copying, forwarding, or publication of any whole piece or a substantial part of it is strictly forbidden unless you have written permission in advance from the author. Similarly, images may not be copied for any purpose without permission. If you want permission, please let us know via the Contact Us page and we’ll put you in touch with the right person.
