Stringybark Short Story Award 2014 - Deadline 18 January 2015

The Stringybark Short Story Award 2014

TIME TILL CLOSE

is now OPEN. Unlike our other competitions, this competition has an open theme. That is, we accept every genre — the only catch is that your story must have some link to Australia.

The Stringybark Short Story Award will be presented to the writer whose story entertainsthe judges the most. You have a maximum of 1500 words in which to achieve this feat. International entries are most welcome.

Stories can be fiction, non-fiction or a combination of both - see the FAQ.

There is a total value of over $860 worth of prizes in cash and books available. Stories must be sent via email. Closing date for entries is 18 January 2015. Winners will be notified by 24 March 2015.

Owing to popular demand, feedback is now available. For further information click here.

If you need some guidance in how to write this kind of material, consider reading our previous books we have published in this genre. They will give you a clear sense of what the judges are looking for. We have previously published The Umbrella’s Shade, The Road Home, The Bridge, Hitler Did It and Side by Side. They are all available as paperbacks or e-books and can be obtained from The Bookshop.
