For print

Overland publishes fiction by new and diverse writers (as well as some established authors) with a focus on work that is politically engaged, intellectually challenging and emotionally charged, across a range of genres and styles. We actively look for new work from emerging writers in regional Australia. The contributors’ budget varies but the minimum payment for stories published in the print journal is $400. (Why should you subscribe? Overland pays all its writers, online and in print. But it also makes all its content free online, so as to disseminate progressive ideas and culture as widely as possible. Readers and writers can support Overland in these efforts by becoming a subscriber.

For this special issue, we have a special New Zealand subscription rate of $45. For that, you’ll get four print editions of the magazine, a year’s worth of politics and culture, the chance to enter competitions at a reduced rate, erudition and a very good feeling about yourself.)
