The judge is John McCullough, academic and prize-winning author of The Frost Fairs.
Three major cash prizes and discretionary honorary awards will be presented at an awards ceremony on Wednesday 25 February 2015.

ELIGIBILITY
Entry is open to anyone over the age of 16 years by the closing date, who was born in, or is resident, working or studying in London (including Greater London) Kent, Sussex and Surrey.
Entries may be in any style on any subject provided they are in English and have not previously been published in any form including on the internet.
Entries should not be submitted to other competitions or for publication until the results are announced of the Four Counties Competition into which they have been entered.
Members of the Rottingdean Writers Group will not be eligible to enter.
The competition closing date is Friday 30 January 2015. Poems received after this date will not be accepted.
Each poem must be on a separate sheet and two copies of each poem are required.
CONDITIONS OF ENTRY
Each poem should have a title and not exceed 40 lines.
All entries must include a completed entry form. The entry form may be photocopied.
No name should appear on the poem itself. All poems are judged anonymously.
You may submit an unlimited number of poems. The fee is £5 for one poem, £10 for two or £12 for three poems. The fee for each additional poem after that is £4.

Payment must be by cheque or postal order made out to Rottingdean Writers Group.
Winners will be required to take part in any publicity surrounding the Competition.
Entries will not be returned so please keep a copy.
JUDGING
The judge for the Four Counties Poets Competition will be Dr John McCullough, prize winning poet, university lecturer and academic who will read all entries.
The prizes will be: 1st prize £750, 2nd prize £250, 3rd prize £100. At the discretion of the judge up to 10 other poems may receive a commendation.
The Judge's decision is final and neither the judge nor Rottingdean Writers Group will enter into any correspondence.
Overall winners will be notified in February 2015. The exact nature of their win will be announced in full at the awards ceremony which will take place at 7.30pm on Wednesday 25 February 2015 at Latest Music Bar in Brighton.
The Judge, at his discretion, may or may not commend an entry of suitable quality from a person whose first language is not English for a Special Award. The Palmeira Prize.
