Phyllis Smart-Young Prize in Poetry #SEANOCAROLAN.COM #WRITING #CONTESTS
Contests
The Madison Review annually hosts the Phyllis Smart-Young Prize in Poetry and the Chris O’Malley Prize in Fiction. The finest unpublished short story and finest group of three unpublished poems will be awarded $1,000 with publication in an issue of The Madison Review. Writers may submit one entry per genre (one short story and/or group of three poems).
Note: The reading period for the Phyllis Smart-Young and Chris O’Malley is changing to September 1st – November 1st effective September 2014. Winners will be published in the print issue of the Spring thereafter.
As of Fall 2013, we are also proud to sponsor the Juan Rollace Undergraduate Poetry competition. More information can be found here.
Also, as of Spring 2014, we will host the annual Golden Fleece competition for undergraduate short fiction. More information can be found here.
