Calling All Budding Poets

This Years Theme Is : “THE CARING JOURNEY … WHO KNOWS”

Poems should be no longer than 30 Lines and please include a brief Biographical Note.

1ST Prize is a weekend stay for two.

Runner up Prizes include Respite Breaks and admission to special Events during Ennis Book Club Festival.

Closing Date is Friday 13th February 2015.

This Competition will be independently judged

Competition
The Caring for Carers Ireland Poetry Prize 2015 (the ‘Competition’) is organised by Caring for Carers Ireland

Entrants

Entries may be submitted from anywhere in Ireland. The Competition is open to Family Carers 18 or over. Employees of Caring for Carers Ireland are not eligible to enter the Competition.

Entrant Identity

Participation may be under an entrant’s real name or under a pseudonym. The author’s legal name must be registered. Prizes can only be awarded to a “real person”.

Entries

Entries must be in English and the subject is “The Caring Journey… Who Knows”. Entries must not exceed 30 lines (not including title or blank lines). Alterations cannot be made to entries after they have been submitted. Entries should not be obscene, offensive, defamatory or libellous.

Entries must be entirely the work of the entrant and must never have been published or have won a prize in any other competition prior to the publication of the competition.

There is no restriction on the number of entries that any one competitor may submit.

Confirmation of entries will be emailed at the time of submission.

Judging

The entries will be judged anonymously by an Independent adjudication team.

The judging will take place following the closure of the Competition. The judges will choose their top 6 entries and rank them in order of preference

The organisers reserve the right to modify the above mechanics if it becomes apparent that doing so would more appropriately reflect the spirit of the Competition.

The organisers will not enter into any correspondence about the results.

Timetable

The deadline for entries is midnight Friday February 13th 2015.

Fees There is no entry fee

Copyright

The copyright of each entry remains with the author.

Prizes

1st Prize a weekend away for two people

Follow up prizes include short Respite breaks and tickets to events at the Ennis Book Club Festival on the weekend of March 6-8th 2015.

The prize winners will be notified by email or telephone at the end of February 2015.

The Prizes will not be awarded to the same person in consecutive years.

General

Entry of the Competition implies unqualified acceptance of all the Competition’s Rules.
