Heroes in Recovery Essay Contest
Heroes in Recovery and The Justice Project are teaming up to offer an international essay competition. The competition is open to individuals from all walks of life, who complete a written essay that addresses the relationship between social (in)justice and addiction. So as to allow a range of approaches to this broad topic, the specifications for this essay are purposely general. Entries may be in the form of a memoir, social commentary, editorial, or analytic essay.
The winning essay will receive $1000. The second place essay will receive $700, while the third place essay will receive $300. These original essays are limited up to 1000 words and must be submitted in English before July 1, 2015 on the Heroes in Recovery website at the following link (provide link). The essays will be judged on their merit by a panel of expert scholars and justice advocates. Winners will be announced August 1, 2015 and published by both the Justice Project and Heroes in Recovery websites.
This prize purse for this contest is made possible by the generosity of Foundations Recovery Network, one of founding members of the Heroes in Recovery movement.
