The East London Writeidea 2015 Prize




The East London Writeidea 2015 Prize is a short story competition administered by the Writeidea Festival – East London’s FREE Reading Festival. The competition is aimed at writers who have never been published before.

The Prizes:
First Prize: £300
Four finalists’ prizes of £50 each
Closing date: 11 October 2015
For ages 16 plus.
Entry fee: FREE

These are the Details of how to enter and the Rules and Regulations (Please read them carefully)

All finalists will be invited to read extracts from their stories (or have them read by an actor) at the Writeidea Festival on Sunday 15 November 2015 at 2:30pm, when the winner will be announced.
The Writeidea ESOL Prize

The Writeidea ESOL Prize is a local short story prize for learners enrolled on Idea Store Learning ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) courses.

A panel of experts will judge the short stories, which can be fiction or non-fiction, and the title is “Home”.

There are three categories, according to learners’ abilities:

Category 1: Pre-Entry – Entry 1 ESOL


Category 2: Entry 2 – Entry 3 ESOL


Category 3: Level 1 – Level 2 ESOL

Prize: £50 (for each of the three entry categories)
Closing date: 18 October 2015
For ages 16 plus.

The winners will be invited to share their stories at the Writeidea Reading Festival on Sunday 15 November 2015 at 1:00pm at Idea Store Whitechapel.
