Tarbert Book Festival and Moniack Mhor are delighted to announce the first Tarbert Book Festival Writing Competition.






The competition is for a short story/researched article/reminiscence piece of up to 500 words maximum on the theme of ‘West Coast Wonders’.

The deadline for entries is midnight on 30th June 2016. Shortlisted candidates will be notified by 31st August and the winner will be announced at the Prize Giving Ceremony at the Tarbert Book Festival during the weekend of 28th – 30th October 2016.

First prize is a week’s (Monday to Saturday) course at Moniack Mhor, to be taken during 2016/2017. The winner will receive a copy of the brochure before the programme is announced at the end of November and will be able to choose from around five options covering a good range of genres and different tutors.

All shortlisted entrants will receive an in depth critique of their work plus a weekend gold pass to the Festival.

The judge is author, editor and creative writing lecturer Dr. Anne Hamilton who will also be appearing at the Festival to deliver a creative writing workshop.
