Fiction: We accept short stories and novel excerpts. No longer than 7,500 words.
Poetry: No more than five poems per submission, please.
Nonfiction: Our pages feature memoirs, personal essays and craft lectures. No longer than 7,500 words.
Play and screenplay: Submissions should follow industry standards.

Art: We publish a wide variety of art, including fine art, photography, cartoons and illustrations. Artwork should conform to the following specifications: Raster based images (photos/scans) must be 300dpi at 7" wide at least (larger is OK). All files should be in CMYK color mode.
Your cover letter should include your name, telephone number, address and email address. (Ever been an employee of CUNY or SUNY? If so, please note this fact in your cover letter.)
Regarding usage and spelling, consult The New York Times Manual of Style and Usage; Merriam-Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary, 11th edition; Webster’s Third New International Dictionary.
The Southampton Review retains the right to reproduce accepted work in TSR’s electronic, print and website publications, and, in the original format, as part of an anthology or compilation. We also retain the right to authorize third parties to reprint TSR materials in databases, or to reproduce the work.The Frank McCourt Memoir Prize contest will be open for submission from February 15 to March 15.
