JANE AUSTIN FANS TAKE NOTE

How would you like to win £1000? Adults are invited to send in a short story of 2017 words or fewer based on this quote from Mansfield Park: 'Selfishness must always be forgiven you know, because there is no hope of a cure'.

Jane Austen was a great writer of letters, and we invite children in two age brackets, 7-11 and 12-16, to write us a letter of 400 words or under on any subject addressed ‘Dear friend’.

Childrens' letter writing competition



Open to young writers across Hampshire in two categories: 7 to 11 years and 12 to 16 years. We invite you to write about a day in your life, real or imagined, humorous or adventurous, whatever you choose. Address it to ‘Dear Friend’and write a maximum of 400 words.
