LONDON POETRY PRIZE

We are excited to announce that the 2022 POETRY LONDON PRIZE, one of the UK's leading poetry competitions, is now open for entries! Our judge for this year's prize is the Filipino-British author Romalyn Ante. Romalyn Ante’s debut collection of poems, Antiemetic for Homesickness (Chatto & Windus) was an Irish Times Best Poetry Book of 2020, an Observer Poetry Book of the Month and a Poetry School Poetry Book of the Year 2020. Romalyn also hosts a series of video interviews, Tsaá with Roma and is the founder of harana poetry. She was recently selected as one of the Jerwood Compton Poetry Fellows for 2021/22.

Entries will close on Thursday June 30 at midnight (BST). You may enter as many poems as you wish. The entry fee is £4 per poem for Poetry London subscribers; for non-subscribers it is £8. You can take out a subscription at the same as entering using the Submittable form and pay the lower subscribers’ fee. Free entries are available for students and writers on low or no incomes. The closing date is 23:59 on June 30 2022. Winners will be notified by the end of September 2022. The first, second and third prize-winners will be published in the Autumn 2022 issue of Poetry London and on the magazine’s website, and they will also be invited to perform their work at the Autumn Readings, held as part of the London Literature Festival at the Southbank Centre in London, in collaboration with the National Poetry Library.

Good luck!

Our warmest wishes,
The Poetry London Team
